Power Trip (band)

Power Trip is an American thrash metal band formed in Dallas, Texas in 2008. Their sound has been described by critics as thrash metal[1] and hardcore punk,[1][2][3] as well as simply crossover thrash.[4] Power Trip's current lineup consists of Riley Gale (vocals), Chris Ulsh (drums), Chris Whetzel (bass), Blake Ibanez (guitar), and Nick Stewart (guitar).[1] To date, they have released two full-length studio albums, two EPs and one compilation album.

In 2013, the band signed with the Southern Lord Records label and released their first studio album, Manifest Decimation.[1] Their second album, Nightmare Logic, was released in 2017 to critical acclaim.[5] In 2018, the album Opening Fire: 2008–2014 was released as a way to compile their extra tracks.[6] Power Trip is currently working on their third album.[7]

Power Trip has toured or played selected shows with many notable acts such as Ozzy Osbourne, D.R.I., Napalm Death, Testament, Exodus, Anthrax, Suicidal Tendencies, Carcass, Cannibal Corpse, Obituary, Opeth, Lamb of God, Hatebreed, Municipal Waste, Five Finger Death Punch, The Damned, Vio-lence, High on Fire, Sheer Mag, Trivium, Kreator, Danzig, Brujeria, Toxic Holocaust, The Black Dahlia Murder, Warbringer, Annihilator, Death Angel, Pig Destroyer, Misery Index, Nile, Immolation, Abnormality, Job for a Cowboy, Suffocation and August Burns Red.[8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19][20][21][22]
