Phoracantha semipunctata

Phoracantha semipunctata, the Australian Eucalyptus longhorn, is a species of beetle in the family Cerambycidae,[1] its common name is the eucalyptus longhorned borer. It is an invasive pest species of eucalyptus originating from Australia.[2]

Description

This beetle ranges from 14–30 mm in length and features a complex pattern of cream and brown markings.

It is similar to the related P. recurva, but differs in the larger size and more extensive dark markings, often creating a transverse zigzag across the elytra.[3]
