Pepita Laguarda Batet

Pepita Laguarda Batet (1919–1936) was a Spanish militant anarchist. Brought up in the industrial district of L'Hospitalet de Llobregat just south-west of Barcelona, she joined the anarchists when still young. In July 1936, she joined the militants. On 19 August, together with her boyfriend Juan Lopez Carvajal, she enrolled in the Ascaso Column, always keeping to the front line. On 1 September, fighting near Huesca, she was seriously injured in the early morning. She died the next day.[1][2]
