Nilesh Narayan Rane

Nilesh Narayan Rane was a member of the 15th Lok Sabha of India. He represented Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg constituency of Maharashtra and was a member of the Indian National Congress (INC) political party. As of 2019 he is a member of Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP). As part of the 15th Lok Sabha, Rane served on the Committee on Home Affairs and the Rules Committee.[1][2][3]

Rane was elected to the 15th Lok Sabha at the age of 28. Presently he is Member of Legislative Assembly.

Rane lost his Lok Sabha seat in the 2014 election to Sena's candidate Vinayak Raut.[4]

Family

Nilesh is son of former chief minister Narayan Rane.

Arrests

In 2013, Rane was arrested for vandalising a toll booth in Goa.[5]

In 2016, Rane was arrested for abduction of Congress Taluka president from Chiplun who alleged that he was kidnapped, assaulted and confined inside a locked room by Rane and his party men for missing the Maratha meet.[6]

In 2017, Rane was arrested for assaulting a government official.[7]

In 2019, Rane was arrested after being caught on camera for assaulting an engineer and throwing mud on him.[8]
