Nick Loenen

Nick Loenen (born 1943) was a Canadian politician. He served in the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia from 1986 to 1991, as a Social Credit member for the constituency of Richmond.[2]

In 1997 Loenen's best-selling book Citizenship and Democracy: A Case for Proportional Representation was published. The book makes a case that Canada's first-past-the-post voting system is inefficient and leads to many wasted votes. Loenen argues that proportional representation is the solution.[3]
