New River (South America)

The New River (or Kutari River) is a river of South America in Guyana. The river rises in the Acarai Mountains and flows north-east to the Courantyne River at the border between Guyana and Suriname.[1]

In Suriname, the river is called the Kutari River.[2]

It is part of a border dispute between Suriname and Guyana, known as the Tigri Area or New River Triangle.[1]
