Murad Arif

Murad Arif oglu Shukur (Azerbaijani: Murad Arif oğlu Şükür) (born 27 september 1981) is an Azerbaijani singer, composer, record producer, showman and journalist. As an author of the most loved songs, in Azerbaijanian press he is presented as “Hitmaker”.[1][2][3] He is the author and presenter of Youtube project “Popumuz Var!”.[4] He was chosen as coach in the international project “The Voice“.[5][6][7]

Biography

Murad was born in 1981, on 27th of September in Sumgait. His father Arif Shukurov (1936-2019) is originally comes from Fuzuli, while mother Sanubar Shukurova (b. 1949) is from Shusha. Beside himself, Murad has 2 sisters. He is the brother of famous TV-representer Konul Arifgizi. Murad got his education in Sumgait, he has studied at schools №15, №28 and "Istedad" lyceum. He is the graduate of International Economic Relations faculty. In 2011, got married. In 2012 his son Mikayil, in 2015 daughter Ayla were born.[8]

Television career

After graduation, he didn’t continue to work in the field of economy. In 2002, he worked in Radio Space 104 FM. Later, he worked in Lider Jazz FM, Public radio & Day.AZ radio as DJ. Murad Arif was accompanied by Leyla Quliyeva to comment Eurovision 2006, as they were the first commentators. His first television show was broadcast on ITV , in 2006 with Husniyya Maharramova , named “Qaraj”. In 2007, Murad was the winner of the project of Murad Dadashov – “Mashin show” and won the car. Besides, he was presenter of “Yeni Sahar”, “Solo” in Lider TV and “Gun kechir” in ATV. In 2008, in "Montreux Jazz Festival which was held in Switzerland, he organised programs. In 2010 he was commentator of the opening ceremony of World Football Championship. Also, he was commentator of the international music competition “5 Звезд”. In 2014, as a jury member of “Böyük səhnə”, he initiated Dilara Kazimova’s victory in the national selection for Eurovision 2014. Murad in 2018 presented his own show “Popumuz Var!”.

Music Career

For a long time, Murad was the record producer of Ayaz Qasimov, Khayyam Nisanov, Yashar Calilov and Elton Huseynaliyev. In 2008, Murad surprises his audience with his composing skills. He presents “Almalarinla” in 2008 with Ayaz Qasimov. As the song releases, it becomes one of the main hits of the country. After his success, a lot of celebrities of Azerbaijan are trying to cooperate with Murad Arif. He presents successful hit songs to Natavan Habibi, Aygun Kazimova, Roya Aykhan, Tunzala Aghayeva, Sevda Alakbarzadeh, Faig Aghayev and others. In 2009, his song “Sevdiyini söylə” becomes winner of the competition "Bakı Gecələri" which was held and organised by Ministry of Culture. Song were sang by Intizar and Natavan Habibi. In 2011, singer Natavan Habibi, sings the song "Təyyarələr" which was composed and written by Murad Arif in the «Turkcevizyon Muzik Festivali 2011» the festival of the Turkish speaking countries, competition which was held in Denizli, Turkey.[9] His songs were sang by famous Turkish celebrities Nil Karaibrahimgil, Zinyet Sali, Enbe Orkestrası, DJ Suat Ateshdagli with the official permission by him and included the songs to their albums. Furthermore, Murad Arif’s songs were mastered illegally by the singer of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Russia. In 2014, he starts his solo career by singing his own songs. His debut songs “Həyat Yoldaşımsan", "İnşallah", "Saçların" attracts the attention of the audience. In 2018 Murad Arif’s song “Oppalara” breaks record, gets 21 million views on Youtube.[10] In 2018 Murad Arif holds solo concert in the Centre of Heydar Aliyev. In 2019, he again holds concert in the same location. In 2019, 5th of September, Murad Arif had concert “Tufan” in the biggest club of the country “Electra Hall”.[11] In 2020, Murad is being selected as the coach of the international project "The Voice Kids".
