Mr Trot (Korean: 내일은 미스터트롯, lit. 'Tomorrow is Mr Trot') is a South Korean reality television show. The show is the male version of the popular Miss Trot, an audition show for singers who perform trot music.[1] It aired on TV Chosun every Thursday from January 2 to March 12, 2020.[2][3]

Mr Trot became one of the most popular shows on Korean television. Currently, it is the highest rated broadcast in cable television history in the country.[4]

Episode 7 - 8: Mission 3

Round 1

In this round, at the end of every groups' performance, the 10 masters will give their grading, with 100 marks as the full mark. On the other hand, the 500 audiences will be able to donate at most 1 million won to each of the group. Donation of 1 million won will be equivalent to 1 mark counted to the teams' marks. The money, in the end, will be donated to the children in need.

Trot is a popular genre of Korean music characterized by its repetitive rhythms and vocal inflections. Trot originated in Korea during the Japanese colonial era and was influenced by Korean classic, Japanese, American, and even European music. Its lyrics include candid emotions about life, love, and the nation’s poverty, and has been sung and loved by older generations in Korea. Although trot music was very popular until the 1980s, it was at times mocked as “Ppongjjak”, meaning “cheap music.” Trot has given way to the rise of a new form of popular music coming in the 1990s, what we now know as K-pop. Today, Trot is considered old people’s reminiscent of their past.

Trot is a popular genre of Korean music characterized by its repetitive rhythms and vocal inflections. Trot originated in Korea during the Japanese colonial era and was influenced by Korean classic, Japanese, American, and even European music. Its lyrics include candid emotions about life, love, and the nation’s poverty, and has been sung and loved by older generations in Korea. Although trot music was very popular until the 1980s, it was at times mocked as “Ppongjjak”, meaning “cheap music.” Trot has given way to the rise of a new form of popular music coming in the 1990s, what we now know as K-pop. Today, Trot is considered old people’s reminiscent of their past.
