Mark Simmons (police officer)

Simmons joined the Metropolitan Police as a constable on 6 September 1982.[1] In March 2016 he was the subject of an Independent Police Complaints Commission inquiry[2] He was Deputy Assistant Commissioner and Head of Local Policing until December 2018, when he was appointed Assistant Commissioner at the Metropolitan Police Service of Frontline Policing[3][4]

Mark Simmons QPM is a senior UK police officer.

He announced his retirement in February 2020.[5] He has since postponed it until the end of the COVID-19 pandemic[6] and will now retire in August 2020.[1]
