Fitzpatrick is a Winger who joined St. Pats from schoolboy side Quarryvale F.C. before the start of the 2005 season. After a series of impressive displays for the Under-21 side, Fitzpatrick was voted the club's Under 21 Player of the Year. He made his senior debut for St. Pats away to Dublin City FC early in 2006 season. Fitzpatrick was also a member of the FAI Cup Runner up team in 2006. He signed on loan for Monaghan in July 2007. This all round player was quickly picked up by then Waterford United manager Gareth Cronin in January 2008.

Fitzpatrick then moved to Australia where he played for three Victorian teams – Bentleigh Greens, Southern Stars and finally Mornington Soccer club – in this time winning two leagues along the way. Upon his return to league of Ireland he signed for Bray Wanderers.
