List of islands of the British Isles

This page is a list of islands that form the British Isles that have an area of one kilometre squared or larger, listing area and population data. The total area of the islands is 315,159 km2.[1] The largest of the islands, after Great Britain and Ireland, are found in the Hebrides and the Northern Isles to the north, and Anglesey and the Isle of Man in the Irish Sea. Also included are the Isles of Scilly to the west of Cornwall, the Isle of Wight off the south coast of England, the islands off the west coast of Ireland, and the Channel Islands, which are actually positioned off the coast of France.

There are 189 permanently inhabited islands in total:[note 1]

The Isle of Man and Calf of Man.

The Isle of Man, the Bailiwick of Guernsey and the Bailiwick of Jersey are Crown dependencies.
