Leaf Huang

Leaf Huang is a Fred Eshelman Distinguished Professor in the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy and a Professor UNC/NC State joint Biomedical Engineering department. He has authored and co-authored over 570 peer reviewed articles and as of 2017 carries an h-index of 114.[1]

Biography

Huang was born in Taiwan to a Professor of Horticulture.[2] He obtained his Ph.D. from Michigan State University and from 1976 to 1991 worked at the University of Tennessee. From 1991 to 2005 he served as faculty member at the University of Pittsburgh. In 2005 he moved to the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy, and served as Chair of the Molecular Pharmaceutics division until 2012.

In 2009 he was named forum speaker by the Dalian Institute of Chemistry and Physics and Chinese Academy of Sciences and the same year became an honorary professor at Sichuan University. In 2010 he became distinguished speaker at Japan Association for The Advancement of Medical Equipment and held the same position at both the University of Shizuoka and Academy of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology the same year.[3]

In addition, he is a devout Christian and part-time pastor.
