Lazarus (Lazarus album)

Lazarus is the self-titled debut studio album by the American band Lazarus released in 1971 album on the Bearsville Records label, distributed by Warner Bros. Records. "Warmth of Your Eyes” was released as the first single in 1972. The album is considered one of the early albums of the Contemporary Christian movement.

Lazarus was released in the US, UK, Canada, Australia in 1971 and in Japan in 2016.[1]

All the songs on Lazarus were written by Billie Hughes, with the exception of "Listening House" and "Doncha Cry", written by Hughes with Gary Dye.[2]

Cover versions and Performances

In 1974, The Lettermen covered and released "Eastward" as a single, reaching #16 on the Billboard US Adult Contemporary chart.[4]

Noel Paul Stookey performed Bill Hughes “Blessed” at his Carnegie Hall concert, the recording of which was released by Warner Bros. as "One Night Stand" in 1973.[5]

"Blessed" is included The Giant Book of Christian Sheet Music published by Alfred.[4]
