Lagos Business School

Lagos Business School (LBS) is the graduate business school of Pan-Atlantic University, owned by the Pan-Atlantic University Foundation (PAUF), a non-profit foundation registered in Nigeria. LBS was founded on inspirations from the teachings of St Josemaria Escrivá, the founder of Opus Dei. LBS offers academic programmes, executive programmes and short focused programmes in Management that have been ranked among the best in Africa. The LBS main campus is located in Ajah, Lekki, Lagos State.

The school was established in 1991,[1] LBS has collaborated with other business schools in Africa and around the world on programmes to develop responsible business leaders for Africa and the world.

LBS is a member of the Association of African Business Schools (AABS), the Global Business School Network (GBSN), the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) and AACSB International – Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.

For 14 consecutive years, LBS has been ranked among the top business schools in open enrolment executive education and for four years in the custom executive education by the Financial Times of London. It is the first institution in West Africa to appear on this list.

On 1 December 2016, LBS received accreditation from AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business), becoming the first institution in West Africa to be thus accredited.[3][4] Lagos Business School (LBS) also proved its standards in management education as the International Accreditation Advisory Board of the Association of MBAs (AMBA) accredited the MBA programmes offered by the school on 8 December 2016.

LBS was ranked among the top 50 business schools on The Economist magazine’s 2018 EMBA ranking. The Economist’s Executive MBA ranking is a bi-annual list of the best providers of the Executive MBA programme across the world categorised based on two broad measures: personal development/educational experience and career development. The LBS Executive MBA programme ranked as 48th best in the world out of 65 schools featured on the list published.

In 2020, LBS has become the only business school in Africa to be featured on The Economist 2020 Executive MBA Ranking. The LBS Modular Executive MBA was ranked based on the quality of students, student and faculty diversity, quality of faculty, programme quality, career progression, salary and networking. The programme holds the 2nd position in the world in the percentage increase on in pre-EMBA salary on graduation category, and 4th position in the percentage increase on in pre-EMBA salary after one year.

LBS has been ranked every year since 2007 by the Financial Times of London[5] among the top 70 business schools in the world in the area of open enrollment executive education (2007–2020)[6] and custom executive education (2015-2020).[7]

For three consecutive years, (LBS) Full-Time and Executive MBA programmes have maintained their status as Tier One programmes according to the 2020 Global Executive MBA Rankings released by CEO Magazine.

Affiliations

LBS is in relationship with top business enterprises in Nigeria and top multinationals in Africa.

In January 2017, LBS joined 220 other leading business schools across the globe to become an affiliate of the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), a non-profit organisation of leading graduate business schools in the world, and owner and administrator of the GMAT exam.

By virtue of its AACSB accreditation, LBS became a member of the MBA Career Services & Employer Alliance[8] in September 2017. Membership of the global body provided LBS access to tools and opportunities to build relationships with MBA/graduate business career centers and employers.
