Konrad de la Fuente

Konrad de la Fuente (born July 16, 2001) is an American soccer player who plays as a winger for FC Barcelona Juvenil A.[1]

Club career

Youth

Born to Haitian parents of Dominican descent, De la Fuente moved to Spain at the age of 10 when his father took a job at the Haitian consulate in Barcelona, Spain. He was discovered and was offered the chance to play for FC Barcelona while playing for local team CF Damm. He has developed in Barcelona's youth system since joining in 2013.[2][3]

Barcelona B

He made his debut coming off the bench for the reserves on December 1, 2018, playing 12 minutes against Valencia Mestalla. He conceded a penalty in the final minutes of the game causing his side to go 2–1 down, but fellow teammate Ronald Araújo equalized late, ending the match 2–2.[4]

He made his first start for the team on December 15, 2019, in a 3–1 win against CF La Nucía.[5] He was replaced by Dani Morer in the 70th minute.

De la Fuente scored his first goal on February 2, 2020, a stoppage time winner in a 2–1 win after coming on in the 81st minute against AE Prat.[6]

International career

Born in the United States, de la Fuente has represented the United States at the U-16, U-18, and U-20 levels.[7] In 2019, he was called up to the United States U-20 for the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland.[8][9] He started every match until the United States was eliminated by Ecuador in the quarterfinals.[10]

He is of Haitian descent and also holds a Spanish passport.[11]
