Kodumur

Kodumur is a town and assembly constituency in Kurnool district in the state of Andhra Pradesh in India.[2]It is the only constituency in the combined state which produces two chief ministers from it( Damodaram Sanjeevaiah and Kotla Vijayabhaskara Reddy). It comes under Kurnool Parliamentary constituency and the only reserved assembly constituency under Kurnool Parliament segment. Agriculture is the only source of income for this mandal. Production of Cotton, Castor seeds, Red gram and vegetables is main portion of agriculture.

Geography

Kodumuru has an average elevation of 342 meters.River Hundri passing nearby Kodumur and almost it touches each and every village of this mandal. Majority of the mandal contains black cotton soil and places where red soil present are Yerradoddi, parts of Pulakurthi, Pyalakurthi and Laddagiri. River Hundri is rich source for construction sand and places along River Hundri are mostly saline in nature.
