Kacheri Arambam
Kacheri Aarambam (English: Celebration/Performance Begins) is a 2010 Indian Tamil-language action comedy film written and directed by Thiraivannan, starring Jiiva and Poonam Bajwa in the lead roles, whilst, J. D. Chakravarthy plays a pivotal role. The film released on 19 March 2010 and received mixed reviews but became a successful venture at the box office.[1]

Plot
The film begins at a journey in train where Paari (Jiiva) looks back at everything. Cut to the beginning, one remote village in Ramanathapuram. Paari is a do-gooder helping everyone in need. A magnanimous man, he gives anything and everything to others if they ask for. Promising his father Vasu (Azhagam Perumal) to earn more, Paari sets out to Chennai but faces more challenges. He meets a young girl Madhi (Poonam Bajwa) and falls in love with her. Some goons also cause trouble for Paari. Meanwhile, Sivamani (J. D. Chakravarthy), the dreaded but sophisticated don of the city, is getting ready to marry Madhi. When the two stories meet, chaos ensue. It is up to Paari and Sivamani to sort it out.

Reception
The film received negative reviews. Behindwoods.com gave the film 1.5/5 stating that "Kacheri Aarambam is a Dappan Kuthu Kutcheri".[2] Sify.com gave it a 2/5. Aravind DI of nowrunning.com gave it 2/5 saying that "Kacheri Aarambam is a typical commercial potboiler".[3]
Despite negative reviews, the film was welcomed with high expectations and became a hit.[4]
