Kaberi Bose was an Indian actress who is known for her significant roles in Bengali cinema. She was born in 1938.

Her notable films include Nagar Darpane (1975), Je Jekhane Dariye (1974), Ami Se O Sakha (1974), Aranyer Din Ratri (1969), Shyamali (1956), Madhumalati (1957), Raikamal (1955), Debimalini (1955), Paradhin (1956), and Shankar Narayan Bank (1956). She acted opposite Uttam Kumar in Shyamali, and was directed by Satyajit Ray in Aranyer Din Ratri.[1][2] Kaberi Bose is a prominent Bengali artist during the 50s and 60s. She has an equal proportion of beauty and acting prowess. If she had worked more, she might have attained more success.

Born on 28th March 1938, Kaberi was referred to the film world by a friend of hers. Director Subodh Mitra’s 1955 directorial venture Rajkamal is Kaberi’s debut film. Following Rajkamal Kaberi worked in seven Bengali flicks in a short span of one year.

On her personal front, Ajit Chattopadhyay is the husband of Kaberi Bose. She tied the nuptial knot to him during the year 1956. Due to her husband’s job in Bihar, Kaberi quit the film industry and movedS to Munger. After a sabbatical of 12 years, Kaberi worked in the 1968 flick Aranyer Din Ratri. This film was the directorial endeavor of Satyajit Ray and Kaberi enacted the character of a widow. And Kaberi was noted for her performance in this film. Nevertheless, Kaberi didn’t take up acting with fervor.

Kaberi, along with her spouse and daughter were on their way from Darjeeling when they succumbed to an accident. Unfortunately, her daughter and her spouse breathed their last in the accident. Kaberi was faced with grave injuries. She came back to her normal form after 3 years. Kaberi breathed her last on February 18th, 1977.
