Education
Truong earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Southern California, his Master of Arts from the American University, and his Juris Doctor from the Washington College of Law.[1]
Legal and academic career
Upon graduation from law school, Truong clerked for Judge Ricardo M. Urbina of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia. He was in private practice at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius. He currently works at the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia where he serves as the serves as Senior Litigation Counsel in the Civil Division. He previously represented federal officials and executive government agencies in civil litigation before federal courts, and prosecuted criminal offenses. He is currently an adjunct professor at the George Washington University Law School.[1]
Nomination to D.C. Superior Court
On May 20, 2020, President Trump nominated Truong to be a Judge of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia; his nomination was sent to the United States Senate later that day. President Trump nominated Truong to the seat vacated by Judge Wendell P. Gardner whose term expired.[2] His nomination is currently pending before the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs.
