Jananiyar Hanim

Jananyar [Janazir] Berinici Khanum Effendimiz (Arabic: جانانيار هانم; Turkish: Cenaniyar Hanim; born 1827; died 12 December 1912) [1] was the Princess consort of Khedive Isma'il Pasha of Egypt.

Marriage

Isma'il Pasha married Jananyar Hanim 1857, and elevated her to the position of the "Second Princess" at 1863 after his accession. During her marriage she was pregnant with six children, however only two of them survived (prince Ibrahim Helmy and princess Zinab).[2][3]

Death

Jananyar Hanim died at the Zafaran Palace, Cairo, 12 December 1912, bur. there at the Khedival Mausoleum, ar-Rifai Mosque.
