Haizea

Haizea was a Basque band, with their music been categorised as psychedelic rock, progressive rock and folk-rock. The word "Haizea" means "wind" in Basque.

Haizea released two records, Haizea and Hontz Gaua [1] The first record "Haizea" was released in 1977 by the label IOIOTS-149 LS, being more folk than progressive.[2] The second LP was "Hontz Gaua", released by XOXOA 111 03, 1979, psychedelic folk, one of the jewels of European progressive psychedelic.[3]


The band line up were originally;

Xabier Lasa (guitar and voice) (later Txomin Artola)

C. Busto (drums, percussion and xilophon) (later C. Busto Hondar)

Xabier Iriondo (flute and guitar)

Gabriel Berrena (contrabass and electric bass)

Amaia Zubiria (vocals)[4]
