Green Pastures Hospital

Green Pastures Hospital (हरियोखर्क अस्पताल तथा पुर्नार्स्थापना केन्द्र) is a hospital in Pokhara, Gandaki Pradesh, Nepal providing treatment, care and rehabilitation of people living with leprosy.[1] It is the biggest hospital of its kind in Nepal and serves over 8000 patients every year.[2]

The Shining Hospital Pokhara, Western Regional Hospital and Green Pastures Hospital are the first three health institutions providing modern medicine to the people of Pokhara and the Western Region of Nepal.

History

International Nepal Fellowship (INF) started a "Green Pastures" Leprosarium in 1957 in a small farm on the South of Pokhara (opposite to where Western Regional Hospital is located) to take care of patients with Leprosy. The Leprosarium was developed into Leprosy Hospital in 1970.[3]
