Grange Cooperative

Grange Cooperative Supply Association (often referred to as Grange Co-op) is an agricultural supply cooperative based in Oregon's Rogue Valley. The Cooperative was started in 1934 with a group of 99 farmers from the Rogue Valley who invested $10 each[2] to form a fuel-delivering cooperative in Central Point, Oregon. Grange Co-op was limited to petroleum supplies at first. Today the company offers agricultural supplies, farm products, consumer goods, petroleum products, pet supplies, lawn and garden supplies, apparel, footwear and hardware.[3]

History

Grange Co-op purchased Ashland Mills in 1943, and in 1960, opened a new retail store in Ashland. The first Grange Co-op in Medford was a result of a merger with Jackson County Co-op in the 1960s. Since then, Grange Co-op has been providing farmers with top-quality Rogue Fertilizers, offering conventional and organic fertilizers blended at the plant to meet the demands of the region. [4]Other products offered to the agricultural community include crop protection products like herbicides, insecticides, and fungicides, and rentals of fertilizer spreaders. [5]The local agricultural community and landscapers not only trust Grange Co-op for the best products, but also receive expert advice, consultation and other services from Grange Co-op’s Fertilizer & Professional Products including field calls and soil samples.[6] In 1996, Grange Co-op merged with Josephine County Growers Co-op in Grants Pass (started in 1927). In September, 2005, Grange Co-op acquired the American Feed & Farm Supply store in Klamath Falls.[7] In 2008, the cooperative added a retail location in White City. In 2017, Grange Co-op opened its first store in California. The Yuba City location opened in March 2017 and is currently the co-op's largest store.[8]

Grange Co-op also offers a gasoline and diesel Commercial Fueling Station for agricultural and business customers. [9]At their card-activated fueling station located in Medford, Commercial Fueling Network customers enjoy the convenience of fueling 24 hours a day, seven days a week with once-a-month billing.[10] The CFN card is accepted at over 32,000 sites internationally including all Chevron, Texaco and Pilot stations.[11]
