Goba Secondary School

Goba Secondary School is a community secondary school in Goba ward, Ubungo District, Dar es Salaam Region, Tanzania.[1] It is located at Kinzudi street about 7 km from Bagamoyo mainroad at Tangibovu.

History

Goba Secondary, formerly known as Goba A, was started at Goba Primary School in 2006. The school started at Goba Primary School because of few buildings that were available for school to start. In 2007 school officially moved to where its buildings were located. Since Goba Secondary School is community owned school, school lacks a lot of teaching stuffs e.g. library, good laboratory that could promote students to learn well. Academic performance of the school from the first graduates 2009 to 2013 is low. Below is summary of CSEE results of Goba secondary in 2009-2013 respectively

School intake

Since the school is a day school, it enrolls learners that live around the Goba ward. On average, it enrolls about 200 learners each year. These learners are sourced from nearby primary schools. It is a co-educational school. In 2013, the ratio of boys to girls stood at 56:44.

Sports and entertainment

The school always encourages learners with different talents to participate in sports and entertainment. Sports and entertainment is part of learning. Sport activities at the school include football, netball, volleyball and handball.
