Ghanchi

Ghanchi is a Hindu caste found in the states of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and other parts of India. The Ghanchis are listed among Other Backward Classes.[1][2][3]

The Sahu, Teli and Ganiga are related castes found in Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. The name is of Indian origin, and means a businessman (producer and seller of oils) (Teli). The surname is commonly found in Lunavada, Surat, Navsari, Ahmedabad, Valsad, Bilimora, Chikhli, Saurashtra, Amreli, Bagasra, Bilkha, Godhra, Bhavnagar, Junagadh, Kalol, Kadi, parts of Rajasthan Jodhpur, Pali, Sojat, Sumerpur, Mumbai,Navi Mumbai.[4]
