Farnaz Esmaeilzadeh

Farnaz Esmaeilzadeh (Persian: فرناز اسماعیل‌زاده, born 29 َApril 1988) is an Iranian speed climber from Brujerd.[1] She started climbing at the age of thirteen and has been competing internationally from 2007 in Qinghai China IFSC world cup as a member of first Iranian national climbing team that made it to the world cups.Then she participated in Makao Indoor Games 2007 for the first time in standard speed climbing competitions format.She has won gold medals for several years in a row in speed national championship, also attended in national bouldering and lead climbing field and secured medals in all disciplines.In 2012, she took part in Arco Italy world championship as the only speed climber female athlete from Iran. In the same year, she won the first Iranian combined cup ever in China Asian championship as well as silver medal in speed relay.In 2013, at the height of her competitive ability, Esmaeilzadeh won gold medal at the Asian championship and ranked sixth in the world by the IFSC in Mokpo Korea.In 2014 she took Silver medal home from the Asian Championship Indonesia and competed in Spain world championship.In 2015 she won gold medal in Canadian national championship, set the new speed record for Iranian women during the world cup and placed seventh in IFSC world cup overall rankings and She is titled the Iranian spider woman for her speed on the wall.[2][3] Iranian female rock climber Farnaz Esmaeilzadeh received a silver medal in the 2016 Climbing Escalade Canada (CEC) National Speed Climbing Championships in Central Saanich, Canada.Esmeilzadeh has also had experience coaching youth team in national training camps and route setting for youth nationals.As the other part of her life,she published two poetry books.Farnaz Esmaeilzadeh was born in the mountainous regions of Iran to parents who taught her from an early age a love for the mountains. Both of her parents were athletes and mountaineers, and she followed in their footsteps.She started her competitive sport climbing career in 2002, winning her first medal at the Iranian National Championships (Silver), and from there she has competed at the highest levels of the sport, traveling all over the world to compete, including China, Korea, Azerbaijan, Indonesia, Spain, Canada, Germany, and France. Through her years of experience, she has gained a reputation as an athlete who pushes herself to her limits, and one who always aims to improve herself every time she climbs up the walls.[4]Outside of the competitive circuit, she has worked to help develop and grow the sport in her country, including coaching the next generation of Iranian women climbers.It is a passion of hers to promote sport and healthy living for the women of her country and to be an inspiration worldwide in matters concerning sports, health, and well-being She also is a very artistic person, having published a book of poetry, playing the guitar, and being an accomplished artist and painter.she's studied psychopathology at university and she's a member of Iran's national rock climbing team. She started rock climbing since she was 13, never having a coach, she's won Iranian Sports Olympiad first prize, twice. She's been a member of Iran's national team for 9 years, she's attended many different international rock climbing competitions such as China, South Korea, Italy, Spain, Azerbaijan and Indonesia. She is known as the fastest rock climber woman in Iran, the world knows her as the Iranian Spider woman.She is a Tier 3 coach of ascending, route designer and referee in rock climbing.</ref>[5]what makes her different from other athletes in Iran is her self-centered way to success, not having a coach, using internet, learning every aspect of rock climbing by experience and facing the dangers in each step of it from a very young age, made her an icon as a successful Iranian woman.[6][7]
