History

The faculty was established in 1977. It has its origins in the Institute of Management of the University of Warsaw which established in 1972. In 1974 the name of the institute was changed to the Institute of Organization and Management of the University of Warsaw and the Polish Academy of Sciences. On the basis of this institute, the Faculty of Management was established in 1977. [2]

With the change of the political system, the department also evolved. In 1990, the International Management Center (MCZ) was established, which from 1991 to 2013, together with the University of Illinois, ran one of the most prestigious MBA studies in Poland.[3] Since 2013, MCZ has been running the Executive MBA program independently. In 2000, the International Business Program was launched, a two-year MA studies conducted entirely in English. In 2002, a new building was commissioned with a sports hall, and in 2004 and 2005, two old buildings were renovated .[4]
