The platform is a Decentralized Autonomous Organization, a A decentralized autonomous organization (DAO).
Elixio membership requires an invitation from an existing member or a LinkedIn account.[5][6][7][8]
Elixio allows networking opportunities for senior to executive-level business professionals.
Elixio features forums, geographically specific events, classifieds, social interaction, and photo sharing. Unlike other similar social networks, Elixio is a gated and decentralized online community with an identified member-base. The network does not allow anonymous or pseudonymous interactions. In 2018, Elixio announced transition to DAO, a decentralized autonomous organization and it is governed by AI .
History
Elixio was founded in 2007.[9]
In February 2013, Anthony B. was named chief technology officer.[10]
In 2017, Elixio announced Tokens for its members. Verified members are now able collect Elixium utility tokens for their contribution to the network.
On June 11, 2018, the company announced a Series D funding round of 150 million led by Serpens Ventures.
