Donald's Halloween Scare

Donald's Halloween Scare is a cartoon made by Walt Disney Television Animation. It was released on March 4, 2000. Music by Stephen James Taylor was nominated for an Annie Award in 2000.

Plot

It's Halloween and Huey, Dewey, and Louie are going trick-or-treating. They receive treats from Minnie (as a Witch with her black cat Figaro), who scoops out candy from her cauldron; Mickey (as a Vampire in a candy-filled coffin with bats emerging from it), who hands them candy before ducking back into his coffin; and Goofy, the latter thinking it was Easter and giving them Easter eggs while dressed as the Easter bunny and wearing a cardboard tree, while his house is shown decorated with Easter-based decorations. The boys finding Goofy's thinking ridiculous, try to explain that Halloween isn't the time for eggs, but for candy, which Goofy tries to think about. They visit Donald's house, but find him apparently watching TV and assume that he is too lazy to answer the door. A scary man with a hook and a hockey mask (who is actually Donald in disguise while the "Donald" in the house is revealed to be a decoy) appears and scares the boys away. He takes the candy that his nephews left behind as well, showing he'd rather take other kids well earned candy for himself then give it away. Huey, Dewey, and Louie discover Donald's trick, seeing him gorge on all of their candy, and plan to get back at him. They sneak inside the house and put glue on Donald's disguise. When Donald hears someone knocking at the door, he puts his costume back on, hoping and expecting to receive and take more candy. However, after jumping out to scare the presumed kids, Chief O'Hara is there instead with a wanted poster of a person dressed in Donald's costume asking if he has seen this man since "three young ducks have gone a-missin'", unbeknownst to Donald that Chief O'Hara is really Huey, Dewey and Louie, stacked up and disguised with a latex mask and raincoat. Donald denies seeing the person, but "O'Hara" proves him wrong by holding a mirror in front of him. Donald then runs away after failing to remove his costume (knocking "O'Hara" over in the process as he yells at him to come back), but Mickey, Minnie and Goofy (who have also received wanted posters) chase after him, believing that he's really the culprit. Donald hides behind a tree, but it is really Goofy's tree disguise. Goofy confronts and attacks Donald by throwing eggs at him. Donald runs to Mickey's house, where Mickey opens his coffin in Donald's face and jumps out to attack him. This forces Donald to flee and hide in Minnie's cauldron. Minnie bangs on the cauldron to force him out. Donald then finds himself facing Minnie, Mickey, and Goofy. As the trio prepare to attack him, Donald again runs for it and is sent flying in Minnie's cauldron, separating him from his hook in the process. After hitting some gravestones and breaking down a mausoleum in a manner similar to pinball, Donald ends up in a graveyard (in which a gravestone hits him in the face, breaking off his mask) in front of three tombstones with his nephews' names on them. Huey, Dewy and Louie pretend to be zombies and emerge from under the tombstones, saying that their uncle scared them to death. They chase Donald across the graveyard until he falls into the hole and they say "Hope you liked our candy uncle Donald, 'cause it was your last", as they prepare to bury him. Donald replies "Oh, I'm sorry boys, I'll get your candy back" and the boys ask "All of it?". Donald says "I cross my heart and hope to (gulp) die," which makes the boys happy at getting back at Donald and make him make up for the candy he ate. Then, the boys dress him up in a costume of their own and make him trick-or-treat with them, while holding a pitchfork behind to make him stand up on his end of the agreement. All four of them run away, however, when the next person they see in the shadows has a hook for a hand, they get terrified, but it turns out that it was actually Goofy, dressed as Santa Claus (now thinking it's Christmas), prepared to give the candy canes. When he sees that there's no one there he decides to lick one of the candy canes.
