Declan Carey

Declan Carey (born 11 February 1988)[1] is the chairperson of Cork City FC.[2]

Early life

Carey was born in Cork, Ireland, and is the youngest of eight children.[3] He attended the North Monastery Secondary School.

Career

Carey has been Cork City F.C.'s webmaster since 2004, for which he won the eir Spiders Young Designer of the Year in 2009.[4] He qualified as an electrician in 2011 before the post-2008 economic crash forced Carey to change careers.[5] Carey began working with Amazon in 2012.[5] He was elected to the board of directors of FORAS (the company which owns Cork City F.C.) in January 2018. In January 2019, he was elected as chairperson by his fellow directors.[6][7]

Personal life

Carey lives with his partner on the north-side of Cork City, near his family home.[5][6][7]
