David Lanre Messan

David Lanre Messan (born 4 March 1983), is a Nigerian entrepreneur, idea strategist, Chief Executive Officer of FirstFounders[1] and 2015 Curator of Lagos global shaper of the World Economic Forum.[2][3]

Life

Messan was born in Isolo, Lagos State on 4th March 1983 to Addi Anthony Messan (father) and Janet Glohoun (mother) who were both of Nigerian and Togolese ancestry.[4] He started his educational journey at Mushin High School where he obtained his SSCE and then proceed to Lagos State Polytechnic to study Mass Communication. He also earned a diploma in Marketing Strategy from Nexford University and Disruptive Strategy from Harvard Business School.[5]

In 2006 at the age of 23, he made his first millons as an entrepreneur[6] through his Infinite Impact Company; an ideas portfolio management firm and started Green Yaggy in 2007, an initiative that helped grassroot youth in Nigeria to get entrepreneurship skills.[7]

He has spoken in various conferences on key economic and social topics, some of which are the Grow Africa Investment Forum, World Economic Forum on Africa, SHAPE Africa, Rise Networks Enterprise Summits, Junior Chamber International Enterprise Summit, TEDx UNAAB.[8] and was selected as a pioneer global shaper of the World Economic Forum where he grew to become the community’s curator in Lagos.[9][10]

Messan is currently serving as an International Partner for Nigeria with World Business Angels Investors Forum (WBAF), Turkey, Scalabl Global Ambassador for Africa and a community organizer for Harvard Business School Online.[11] He has also worked as Head of Marketing and Communications for both Universal Anchor Limited and Maku Sports group[12] and appointed communications consultant to the Lagos State Public Service Staff Development Center where he developed case studies for civil servants work patterns for use by the Lagos State Government led by Babatunde Raji Fashola.[13]
