Dangerous is an 2020 hindi-language action thriller web series for MX Player original. It is written by Vikram Bhatt and directed by Bhushan Patel. The series stars Karan Singh Grover and Bipasha Basu.[1] It is produced by Mika Singh and Vikram Bhatt. The series also stars Sonali Raut, Suyyash Rai, Natasha Suri and Nitin Arora in key roles.[2] It is available for streaming on OTT platform MX Player from 14 August 2020.[3]

A troubled husband looking for his missing wife. Will he find her or will we uncover some #Dangerous hidden secrets?[4]

Premise

Aditya Dhanraj is a business tycoon whose life changes when his wife Dia gets kidnapped. The drama deepens as Neha Singh, Aditya's former flame, enters as the investigating officer on the case.[5]

Synopsis

The series revolves around the life of Aditya Dhanraj (Karan Singh Grover), a young struggling entrepreneur, who discovers that his wife Dia Dhanraj (Sonali Raut) has gone missing. He sets out to find his wife with the help of the police, only to discover that his ex-girlfriend Neha Singh (Bipasha Basu) will be investigating his case.

In pursuit of the truth, will they dig into many 'dangerous' hidden secrets like murder, kidnapping or even a case of business rivalry? Or is there something more to the case than meets the eye?[6]

Soon after her arrival in the city, Neha Singh is assigned a new case to find a missing person. The pressure on the case makes it urgent as the person in question is the wife of Indian millionaire Aditya Dhanraj. As the investigation opens, the truth about Aditya’s troubled relationship with his missing wife, Dia, is surfaced. Things get even more interesting when Aditya finds out that the investigation officer on the case is Neha Singh, his ex-lover. Will this revelation change the route of investigation? Where could have Dia gone? Why did Aditya not share a good relationship with his wife?

While Dia remains missing, Vishal who was appointed as Dia’s driver by Aditya lands up in hospital after getting severely hurt. Now that it is confirmed that Dia has been kidnapped, people start raising eyebrows and evidence points at Aditya involvement in the case. Will Neha suspect Aditya? How did Vishal end up in the hospital? Is Aditya really involved in the kidnapping of Dia?

Is there something Dia was hiding from Aditya?

Development

The web series was announced in the last week of May 2018 to be directed by Bhushan Patel, starring Karan Singh Grover and Bipasha Basu.[14] It was tentatively titled as Aadat written by Vikram Bhatt and produced by singer Mika Singh and Vikram Bhatt.[15]

The web series marks the web debut of actress Bipasha Basu and the second collaboration with her husband Karan Singh Grover after Alone (2015).[16]

Filming

Principal photography commenced in London with the lead actors Karan Singh Grover, Bipasha Basu and they had been spotted shooting on Thursday 27 September 2018.[17]

The music for Dangerous is composed by Mika Singh, while lyrics are written by Kalim Sheikh, Hardik, Azeem Shirazi, Kunal and Pooja Saini. The first song titled "Eyes Teri Katilana Hai" teaser was released on 10 August 2020.[18]

Reception

Hindustan Times mentioned "Dangerous truly delivers on all counts and is undoubtedly one of the best that MX Player has delivered this year. It has a great story line, a cracking cast and all the right amount of intrigue."[21]

News18.com gave the series a rating of 1 stars saying that, "A bland and clichéd plot topped with forced sexual tension makes Karan Singh Grover and Bipasha Basu's Dangerous a rather tedious watch."[22]

Nandini Ramnath of Scroll stated that "Web series with Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover is harmless.“[23]
