Cicely Margaret Escott

Cicely Margaret Escott, known as Margaret Escott, (9 July 1908 – 15 August 1977) was a New Zealand novelist, drama teacher and poet.[1] She was born in Eltham, Kent, England,[1] and moved to New Zealand when she was 17.[2] She wrote three novels in the 1930s, the first two under the pen name C. M. Allen.[1] Escott's final work, a volume of poetry, was written in the months prior to her death in 1977, at Waitemata Harbour in New Zealand.[1]
