Chanchalguda Central Jail

Chanchalguda Central Jail is one of the oldest jails[1] in the country[1] located in Hyderabad, India. This is located in the old city of Hyderabad at Chanchalguda. Its chief architect was Nawab Khan Bahadur Mirza Akbar Baig.[2] It was constructed during the regime of Nizam ruler by name Nizam–Ul–Mulk.[1]

The jail has a capacity of 1000 inmates, achieved 100% literacy during 1989–90. This was made possible with the introduction of adult literacy program.[1]
