Central Party (British Columbia)

The Central Party was a minor political party in British Columbia, Canada. Founded by Scott Yee,[1] it nominated one candidate (Yee) in the 2001 British Columbia provincial election. Yee placed last in a field of seven candidates in the riding of Shuswap, winning 41 votes (0.18% of the total).

In the 2005 provincial election, Yee won 101 votes (0.39% of the total) as an independent candidate in the riding of Vancouver-Fairview.

In the 2005 municipal election, Yee ran for mayor in Vancouver. According to his profile on the City of Vancouver website he campaigned on "Getting rid of the Safe Injection Site, needle exchange, and the NAOMI project. Starting up the Crystal Meth Watch Program.... Starting up a city wide Community Neighbourhood Watch Program, to help the police chase drug dealers from our city. Taking prostitution off the streets, and putting it behind closed doors.... Community Ward Members, None of the above, Recall, Banning municipal political party's, GVRD/TransLink Reforms, Environment, Municipal Corruption, Campaign Finance Reform, Municipal Gag Law, Municipal Salaries Code, Police board Reforms, Animal Protection Bylaws."
