Career

Calidoscopio was foaled in Argentina. He is by Luhuk and out of Calderona, a daughter of Lefty. He was bred by Haras La Quebrada and during his racing career was owned by the Dona Pancha Stud. He won seven graded stakes races in Argentina. His biggest was the Grade 1 Republica Argentina in 2009, though that win was due to disqualification of the horse who crossed the line ahead of him.[1] His trainer in Argentina was Guillermo Frenkel Santillan.[2]

Santillan brought Calidoscopio to the United States at the age of nine, and the horse won the Breeders Cup Marathon, a Grade II race, making him the oldest horse and first Argentinean horse to do so.[2]

In 2013, trained by Mike Puype, he won the Brooklyn Handicap as a 10-year-old. Calidoscopio was retired later that month due to a relatively minor tendon injury.[1] His race record was 42:11-5-8, with total race earnings just under a million dollars, at $975,154. He stands at stud in Argentina at Haras La Quebrada.[2]

gollark: They pack lots of channels and metadata and stuff into a single "multiplex".
gollark: I believe we use DVB-T and DVB-T2 for digital TV here.
gollark: A random Minecraft mod which deals with sound a bit uses DFPWM (https://wiki.vexatos.com/dfpwm) which is seemingly quite simple and has C and Java implementations, but it is also not very good.
gollark: Maybe there's some sort of simple codec you could, er, encode it with?
gollark: Wouldn't that just be an SDR and some software these days?
