Bevan Slattery

Bevan Andrew Slattery is an Australian technology entrepreneur.[1] He has built a number of businesses that handle data and telecommunications. Slattery was listed at number 14 on BRW's list of the 100 wealthiest Australians under 40 in 2011, with a net worth of $103 million.[2]

Early life

Bevan grew up in Rockhampton, Queensland,[3] where he attended Frenchville State School. He graduated from North Rockhampton State High School in 1988, then attended Central Queensland University, which later awarded him an honorary MBA.[4] He worked for the local government in his home town.

Career

Bevan has built IT and telecommunications businesses in Australia for nearly twenty years. More recently (2014) he expanded to Singapore and Hong Kong and again in 2015 into the US and Europe.

He co-founded telecommunications infrastructure provider PIPE Networks with Steve Baxter in 2002; the company was sold to TPG in 2010 for $373 million.[5]

Slattery is the founder and part-owner of SubPartners, a submarine cable group.[6]

He founded Megaport in 2013, which is technology networking business.[7]

In 2015, Slattery floated connectivity services provider Superloop.[3]

Slattery was inducted into the CommsDay Hall of Fame in 2017 for his major contribution to the development of Australia's telecommunications industry.[8]

In 1998, he co-founded iSeek,[9] which was sold to US firm N2H2 for $US16 million in 2000.
