Betsi Rivas

Betsi Gabriela Rivas Arteaga (born (1986-10-02)October 2, 1986, San Carlos, Cojedes, Venezuela[1]) is a female weightlifter from Venezuela. She won the silver medal at the 2007 Pan American Games for her native South American country in the – 48 kg weight division. Her first name is sometimes also spelled as Betsy.

This article uses Spanish naming customs: the first or paternal family name is Rivas and the second or maternal family name is Arteaga.

She won the gold medal in clean and jerk and bronze in snatch during the 2014 Pan American Sports Festival.[2][3]

She also competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics.[1]
