Basdila is famous for the Sunni Madrasa Darul Uloom Tadrisul Islam established in the British Era, pre-independence India.[1][2] Darul Uloom is a government aided institute established in about 1940, currently serving approximately 800 students. The founding stone of this Madrasa was laid down by late. Master Inamulla Khan, and late master Mohd Ali was one of the best teacher in mathematics in madarasa

Maulana Mufti Aijaz Ahmad, commonly known as Badey Hazrat Who Recently Died On 30th December 2019 buried in Basdila, was longest serving Teacher to the Tadrees Al Islam Basdila (more than 50 years). He Was principal of the school and Shaik al Hadith and one of the most respected religious personalities of the Sunni world.

Mufti Uzair Alam Is current Principal of Darul Uloom Basdila.

A very famous place near to Basdila is Sant Kabir Nagar Maghar, where Sant Kabir spent a significant part of his life. Sant Kabir, as per popular lore, was buried as well as cremated near this place. His Samadhi is present as a proof of this historical connection.
