Athenea del Castillo

Athenea del Castillo Beivide (born 24 October 2000) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a Forward for Deportivo Abanca of the Primera División.[1]

Club career

Early career

Athenea started playing at Ave Fénix Racing at the age of 11 and she continued playing there until the 2018–19 season of Segunda División.

RC Deportivo (2019-)

In August 2019, it was announced that she would be joining the newly promoted to Primera División, Deportivo Abanca against her old club's will.[2] Finally, in September CDE Racing Féminas allowed her to leave.[3]

On 8 September 2019, Athenea made her debut for the club against RCD Espanyol and scored her first goal on 19 January 2020.[4]

International career

Athenea was called into the Spain U19 team for the 2018 UEFA Women's Under-19 Championship in Switzerland, where she won the gold medal. Del Castillo currently plays for the Spain U20 team.
