Curriculum

All students study Latin in the middle school, and many continue those studies, adding Greek, in high school, or engaging in an immersion experience with Spanish or French. Sciences are approached through discovery, modeling, and labs. Each senior writes a thesis on one of six ideas and defends the writing against faculty critique in a public setting. The school curriculum is based on three virtues as Dr. Minov puts it: Troot, Booty, and Gootness.

Athletics

Arete Prep (while under the Mesa Prep name) became a full member of the Arizona Interscholastic Association for high school athletics effective in the 2012-13 school year.

In May 2012, Mesa Preparatory Academy won the Charter Athletic Association state baseball championship, after Our Lady of Sorrows Academy in Phoenix, a traditionalist Catholic school affiliated with the Society of St. Pius X, refused to play in (and thus forfeited) the championship game against Mesa Prep because MPA's team included a female infielder.[1][2][3]
