Ankeng light rail

The Ankeng Light Rail (Chinese: 安坑輕軌; pinyin: Ānkēng Qīngguǐ) (code K) is a light rail transit (LRT) system under construction in Xindian District, New Taipei City, Taiwan.[2][3] The route will run from Shuangcheng, joining terminating at Shisizhang where it is to link with the planned Circular line. The line is known in the New Taipei Metro system as the Khaki line, or line K.[4] The line is expected to open in 2021. [5][6][7][8] The rolling stock for the line will be produced in Taiwan.[9]

The trains for the Ankeng line will be in the shape of a partially battery powered tram service, most likely the same type of trams used for the Danhai light rail. Construction started around April 2016 and is well away on the road level part between station K01 and K05, with the first tracks having been laid in November 2018. A depot will also be located just past station K01, near Antai Road. A large part of the depot appears to be inside a mountain.

The line was originally expected to open in December 2020, but has been delayed until December 2021. The line will connect to station Y07 (Shisizhang) of the Circular line, which opened on 31 January 2020.
