History

Throughout the 2000s and 2010s, Amy van Keeken performed as a guitarist and vocalist in the Canadian indie rock band the Secretaries.[5][6][7] In 2004, van Keeken performed as a backing vocalist for Canadian singer-songwriter Colleen Brown.[8] In 2009, van Keeken participated in "That's Edmonton For You," a compilation of musicians from Edmonton including Cadence Weapon, Colleen Brown, and the Wet Secrets.[9][10] In 2011, van Keeken performed at North Country Fair with the band the AwesomeHots.[11]

In 2014, van Keeken's Live Right received a rating of four out of five stars in the Edmonton Journal.[12] In 2017, van Keeken was nominated for the Edmonton Music Awards in two categories: Female Artist of the Year and Roots/Folk Recording of the Year.[13] Amy van Keeken released her album In Dreams in 2018 with an album release concert at the Aviary in Edmonton.[14]

In addition to performing and recording music, van Keeken has been involved in acting and radio; in 2011, van Keeken appeared in Trevor Anderson's film "The Man That Got Away."[15] In 2015, van Keeken began deejaying on CKUA Radio Network.[16]
