There is a temple in the town called Adi Arunachaleeswar or Adhi Annamalayar Temple.

Location

Adi Annamalai or Adhi Annamalai temple also known as Ani Annamalai [1] is situated in Thiruvannamalai. It is one of the shrines of the Vaippu Sthalams.[2][3] It is found in the girivalam of Tiruvannamalai temple. It is found in the girivalam route of Arunachalesvara Temple.[2][4][2][5]

Presiding deity

The presiding deity of the temple is Adhi Annamalayar. His consort is known as Adhi Abithagujalambal.[2]

Other shrines

In the prakara of the temple Vinayaka, Muruga and so many lingas are found.[2] On the way to this temple, a temple devoted to Manickavasaga is found.
