Abra Honda, Camuy, Puerto Rico

Abra Honda is a barrio in the municipality of Camuy, Puerto Rico. Its population in 2010 was 1,943.[3][4][5]

History

The United States acquired Puerto Rico from Spain in the aftermath of the Spanish-American War under the terms of the Treaty of Paris of 1898. In 1899, the United States conducted its first census of Puerto Rico finding that the population of Abra Honda barrio was 1,420.[6]

Ernesto Memorial Chapel

The Ernesto Memorial Chapel, a historic church, made of stone, is located in Abra Honda barrio.[7][8]
