169th Division (People's Republic of China)

The 169th Division (Chinese: 第169师) was created on April 1949 under the Regulation of the Redesignations of All Organizations and Units of the Army, issued by Central Military Commission on November 1, 1948,[1] basing on the 3rd Training and Consolidation Division of Northeastern Military Region.

The division was basically a second-line unit and never went into battle.

In July 1950 the division was disbanded and reorganized as border troops.

As of July 1950 the division was composed of:

  • 505th Regiment;
  • 506th Regiment;
  • 507th Regiment.
