Diaporos Island. Diaporos is located directly opposite the village of Vourvourou on the Sithonia peninsula. Diaporos belongs together with: Kalogria, Ambelitsi, Kalamonisia, Prassonisi, Peristera, Agios Isodoros to a group of small, mostly uninhabited islands. You can reach them by renting a private boat (no license needed) or paddling your own canoe to explore the various secluded coves surrounded by pines and sandy beaches. A trip there is very worthwhile, the beaches almost empty and good for snorkeling. At the narrowest point, the island is only 300m from the mainland. There is also a boat rental company. Various agencies offer organized trips to the island of Diaporos. But it is more interesting to rent a motorboat and explore the islands on your own. In Vourvourou there are many agencies for motor boats. The price is about 50 € per boat for the whole day (10 to 18 clock). The cheapest boats have 15-25 hp and you do not need a driver's license. The used fuel (about 8 l / h!) Is paid on delivery of the boat. Depending on the driving style that can be another 100 euros. The boat rental must be planned in advance, as it often happens that you have to wait 3-4 days for an available boat and in the high season even more.
