Tuba City

Understand

Downtown Tuba, with the Tuba Trading Post and the Explore Navajo museum

Tuba City is the largest settlement on the Arizona side of the Navajo Nation. There is little to detain the traveler, but it makes a good refueling stop on the way from Monument Valley to the Grand Canyon.

Get in

Tuba City is on U.S. Route 160, about 100 miles north of Flagstaff.

Get around

See

  • 🌍 Explore Navajo Interactive Museum. M-Sa 8AM-6PM; Su: 12PM-6PM. $4.50, $3.50 (65 yrs & older), $3.00 (7 -12 yrs old), Free (6 & younger).
  • See some of the most well preserved dinosaur tracks going west on your way out of Tuba City.

Do

Buy

  • 🌍 Tuba Trading Post, 10 N. Main St, ☎ +1 928 283-5441. Far and away the biggest shop in Tuba, this shop dates back to 1905 and has a wide, well-presented selection of souvenirs from the area, including authentic Indian crafts. Tucked away in the back is a small grocery store for the locals.

Eat

  • Hogan Restaurant (At the Quality Inn). Casual food. Price and quality quite OK. No real other choices unfortunately.
  • Tuuve Cafe and Gas Station. Sandwiches, soups, burgers, salads and similar all-American fare. It's not much to get to excited about. $7-12.
  • Sze Chuan Restaurant, Highway 160. Chinese food options.

Drink

As Tuba is located within the reservation, it's a dry town, with no alcohol available.

gollark: You're unpacking a function. You need to actually call it.
gollark: The OC-specific docs are here but they're kind of bad: https://ocdoc.cil.li/
gollark: It's not a *video*, but you can read the PIL manual for Lua here: https://www.lua.org/pil/contents.html - it doesn't cover OC-specific stuff but it's good to know.
gollark: They what?
gollark: There is no `require`. You'll need the robot component or something. I assume that exists. Or maybe `robot` is just in the glΓΈbal scope?
