• From Las Vegas – Take US-95 north to Tonopah.
• From Reno – Take Route 80 east to Fernley, then SR-50 southeast to Fallon, then US-95 south to Tonopah.

By plane

🌍 Tonopah Airport (TPH  ^IATA) itself doesn't seem to offer commercial flights.

Tonopah is infact closer to Las Vegas than Reno by 20 mi (32 km). So therefore the closest airports would be 🌍 Henderson Executive Airport (HSH ^IATA) and 🌍 McCarran International Airport (LAS ^IATA).

If you are factoring Reno into your travels then 🌍 Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO ^IATA) would be the best place to fly into.
