Toledo (Oregon)
Understand
The scenery in this area is stunning and the town is tucked into a natural mountain overlooking the city of Newport and the Pacific Ocean. Toledo is approximately 60 feet above sea level, with a population of approximately 3,400. On a bend of the Yaquina River and surrounded by lush forested hills, Toledo is seven miles inland from the Central Oregon Coast.
Toledo is one of the few cities in Oregon which has a downtown on a city street. Toledo's Main Street retains its historical flavor, with remarkable shops and welcoming residents. Toledo's waterfront and moored fishing vessels are visible at the end of Main Street.
Weather
Toledo's weather is generally mild. The town is protected from the harsh coastal winds, blocked by its forests and mountainous foundation, so Toledo is often warm and sunny. Winters are mild, with temperatures of 30-40 degrees, and summers are pleasantly temperate, at 70-75 degrees.
